modules

Tips for working with the Office Live modules and some ideas for dressing them up a bit.  These tips work for the modules, contact form, blog, forms and lists to varying degrees.

changing text color

You can change the font color and sometimes the weight of some or all of the text in many of the modules. Type a letter, highlight it and change it to what you want.  a|  Place your cursor directly after the letter and insert the module.  Carefully delete the letter.

A short cut is to leave the letter highlighted and click on module.  The module will replace the letter with the color change.

justifying the text in modules

Some of the modules, blog and forms will take on the justification of the text.  They can be changed to left, right or center.  Justify the cursor before inserting the module.  The change doesn't appear in the page editor, only when viewed.  The Town and State is (hopefully) centered  and bold when you view this weather module.

To center a module in an area and have the text justified differently use a table.  Center the table, then justify the cursor inside the table before inserting the module.

Sometimes after you have inserted a module you can click on it and select the justification that you want to change it to.  I find that doesn't always work, but it works sometimes so I'll usually give it a try.

be creative with modules and forms

Place them in tables and use color, images and table background images to create a custom look.
